Pixels On Canvas prints your photo to canvas using digital technology and state-of-the-art 8 color printers. We then stretch your canvas print to the highest quality kiln dried wooden bars in gallery-wrap style, taking the printed canvas around the stretcher bars so the image continues on the sides. This method makes your canvas complete and ready for hanging but does not preclude the addition of a frame if you desire.
You must own the copyright to your photo or have the owner's authorization to reproduce it.
What sort of Photo Should I choose?
Whether digital or traditional, it is preferable to choose a photo that has ample "unimportant" image around the subject of the photo as we do wrap the image around the stretcher bars to the back. For 3/4 inch bars we need an extra .875" for each side and for 1 1/2" bars, we require an extra 1.75" for each side. As such, it is preferable not to have peoples' faces right at the edges of the photo.
If we have no other options, we can print images to the face of the canvas only, leaving an unprinted wrap border (or giving it a color) but, as canvas does stretch, there will typically be some bleed over of the image to the sides - negligible, in most cases, but there, nonetheless.
Will my digital photo be good enough?
If your photo is at least 2 mega pixels and your camera was set at the highest settings for Resolution and Image Quality, it should be ok. Larger mega pixel image files are always better but you still need your camera to be set at its best settings to ensure crisp lines and clean colors (not blotchy) when enlarged.
We do a pre-flight check when the image comes in to be sure it will be suitable and will advise if it is not, offering possible options. If in doubt, email us the photo for a pre-flight check and we’ll advise if there will be a problem. Should you upload for the order and the image is determined to be inappropriate for your desired size, you will have the option to submit another photo, accept the possible deficiency or cancel the order.
What if I have a Traditional Print?
Traditional photos can be mailed to us using the Mail-In form that you print out under Step 2 - Send Us Your Photo - Traditional Print. We will take due diligence in its care and return it with your canvas. However, we caution you about putting a precious, irreplaceable photo in the mail! For this type of photo, you might consider obtaining a high quality scan from a photo shop to upload rather than mailing the original.
When you proceed to checkout with a Traditional Photo, you will see a postal service-type logo in your Shopping Cart (an uploaded image shows a thumbnail of the image in the shopping cart).
If my photo has problems, will you fix them? How much will it cost?
We will repair deficiencies related to age, condition, etc., as well as possible while maintaining the integrity of the photo. There is no cost for basic work. If the repair needs are found to be extensive, we will contact you about additional costs or possibly choosing a different photo.
Can I change my color photo to black and white or sepia for my canvas?
Yes. Just give the instructions in the Comments or Additional Instructions box.
Do you make adjustments to my photo?
We evaluate your photo and apply enhancements as may be necessary to brighten or deepen the colors, add contrasts or do absolutely nothing at all! Our goal is to make your image the best it can be and give you a canvas that makes you smile.
Do I get to see the image before it is printed on canvas?
If we feel you need to see your canvas prior to printing (due to cropping, placement, etc.), we will send a PDF of the image in the print template so you will see how it is placed and how it will wrap. We only do this when we are working out an issue with the image.
How long will it take?
Once all is in order with your photo, your canvas will ship in 5 business days. We use FedEx Ground for our shipping. Overnight, 2 and 3 Day shipping is available by quote request.
100% Guarantee
We want you to be completely happy with your canvas. In the even this is not the case, you have thirty (30) days from the date of shipment to request a refund - or a reprint. NO NEED TO RETURN THE CANVAS. To activate the refund or reprint, cut a two inch square out of the center of the canvas and mail it back to us with a copy of the invoice. Once it has been received, we will issue a refund or reprint your canvas, per your request. Sorry, but we cannot refund shipping charges.
How long will my canvas last?
We use high quality Epson printers and Epson Ultrachrome inks that are rated to 100 years. We print to a high quality, cotton/poly blend, water resistant canvas and coat the finished canvas print with an aqueous based protectorate that will increase water-resistance as well as light-fastness. With proper care, your canvas should last several lifetimes!
